I am reading this GREAT book right now, “Born to Run.” It’s inspiring, interesting and educational, all at once. It’s an adventure novel and also a book about being a great runner. But, by being a great runner, I mean, running in a way that you enjoy and that inspires your life. It’s a great book – check it out!
And while you’re at it – the author will be visiting CFLA soon…
Christopher McDougall — Guest Lecture & Book Signing
October 15th, 6:45 – 9:00pm
Chris McDougall’s epic adventure began with one simple question:
Why do my feet hurt?
His attempts to answer that question let him on an adventure through the mountains of Mexico and to a reclusive tribe, the Tarahumara Indians. The Tarahumara ran hundreds of miles in their sandals. How did they do it? The result of McDougall’s journey was his book, “Born to Run.”
Topics to be covered:
• Putting an end to the war on exercise: how Americans have been persuaded that running and other natural movements are ‘dangerous’ and can only be practiced with motion-controlling equipment.
• Why humans are the greatest distance runners on earth, as proven by the fact that if we couldn’t outrun every other creature, we wouldn’t exist today.
• Why women get stronger as distances get longer
• Chris’s personal journey from broken-down ex-runner into an ultra-marathoner.
• The biomechanics of proper running form, as demonstrated by new research at Harvard University.
Join us for a special free guest lecture and book signing with Chris on Oct. 15th
There will be NO CLASSES this evening.
